Studio D'Artisan
"Craftsmanship with quality and integrity"
Influenced by French work and American vintage, "STUDIO D'ARTISAN"
was the first to reissue vintage jeans in Japan in 1979.
The brand's guiding principle is not to "reproduce" old clothes, but to "reconstruct" them anew,
Incorporating the essence of the period and production background that can only be found in Japan.
They continue to create and pursue new values while keeping an eye on the next generation of vintage.
Studio D' Artisan is Know for using G3 denim. Toyoda's Automatic Loom's G3 / GL3, built half a century ago, was Japan's first power loom and had no replacement parts.
There were no replacement parts, so parts had to be removed from discarded
models of the same type and replaced with broken parts from other machines in
operation.
It is a very inefficient loom that requires a lot of labor and maintenance,
and can weave only about 5 meters per hour.
However, the denim woven on “G3 / GL3” is the one and only loom that can express
denim as workwear with the same ruggedness and roughness as the denim of half In order to make the most of the characteristics of “GL3”, the yarn's uneven
shape, yarn count, rope-dyed shades, number of beats, etc. are all taken into
consideration,
The color of the rope dyeing, the number of strokes, and so on,
The denim is made with D'Artisan original recipe in every aspect.
The unique irregularity and roughness that cannot be expressed in today's
denim, which is produced efficiently and uniformly.
They are confident that they have finally completed this work through repeated
trial weaving without allowing any compromise.
