The El Capitan Boots from John Lofgren Bootmaker are a rugged yet refined lace-up inspired by the enduring landscapes of Yosemite National Park and the timeless utility footwear of the early 20th century.

Named after the iconic granite monolith, the boots are designed to handle demanding terrain while maintaining the clean, balanced proportions that define John Lofgren’s approach to heritage footwear. A 5.5" shaft and stacked heel create a versatile silhouette suited for both everyday wear and heavier use.

The uppers are crafted from Horween Waxed Flesh leather, a unique roughout Chromexcel leather treated with a dense wax finish. Over time, the wax gradually wears away to reveal the textured suede beneath, allowing the boots to develop a deep, individualized patina with continued wear. The leather combines durability, weather resistance, and evolving character in equal measure.

Built with 270-degree Goodyear welt construction and USA-made storm welts, the boots are reinforced through heavy single and double stitching for long-term durability. Vibram 430 soles and heels provide dependable traction underfoot, while Japanese-made steel shanks add structure and stability. An embossed padded leather heel pad rounds out the interior with added comfort.
